Thousands of revellers—and thousands of delighted onlookers—show their Pride in downtown Toronto.
WHERE: From Church and Bloor streets down Yonge Street to Yonge-Dundas Square
WHEN: Sunday, June 29
WHAT: The 34th annual Pride Parade, which also happened to be the city’s first-ever WorldPride parade. After 10 days of celebrations and activism, WorldPride culminated in this moving street party. More than 12,000 marchers participated, and rainbow-bedecked spectators jammed the route. And what’s the most appropriate way to mark the end of such festivities? A real-life rainbow (or two), of course.
