They're in need of an improved shelter and a larger watering hole.
Llamas are pretty amazing. They have great hair, make for a handy Scrabble word, and can look like Taylor Lautner. So it’s obvious the llamas are treasures.
But the llamas at the High Park Zoo could use some help—in the form of a new shelter and a larger watering hole to protect them from the summer heat. These improvements are expected to cost about $120,000. Although the zoo had its operating funding restored in the last budget, it doesn’t receive any capital funding from the City. It’s asking for the public’s assistance: every dollar donated will be matched by the Honey Family Foundation, up to a total of $60,000.
So if you’d like to feel warm and fuzzy by improving the lives of creatures who are warm and fuzzy, you can donate to the llama cause.
