Another Total Recall Trailer, Now With 100 Per Cent More Toronto

A first glimpse of what Toronto will look like in the film.

We’ve been following Total Recall trailer news pretty closely, because the film, a remake of the 1990 sci-fi action-adventure movie of the same name, is one of the biggest productions ever to have been shot here in Toronto. Colin Farrell plays the lead. Whether or not the movie does well at the box office, it’s guaranteed to be seen all over the world. It is, in other words, a big deal for the local entertainment industry.

Previous trailers have been short, and have offered nothing but fleeting glimpses of the film’s set. But yesterday, a two-and-a-half-minute preview was released (it’s embedded above) that shows, for the first time, what Toronto will look like in the finished product—though only for a split second.

We’ve captured a screenshot of the one frame where Toronto’s streetscape is most distinct. Take a look at it, after the jump.

The location appears to be U of T’s Convocation Hall, which is maybe not the most sci-fi of settings. But we’ll take it.

    Where is the third nipple?

Maybe 0.2% more Toronto. This film is going to be the toughest T.O. flick ever to spot on screen – we’re not exactly talking about simple blacked-out newspaper boxes here. They CGI’d everything, even the background shots of U of T a moment after the frame above…

Hell, they digitally removed Lakeshore from the car chase sequences.
