That might be a dodo on the head of Banksy’s sub-Gardiner security guard, but it’s harder to say whether last night’s addition to the work—a stenciled bird, “Robbin’ Banksy” painted on the wall to the right, and “Grrr!” tossed beside the muzzled mouth of the balloon dog—marks an evolution or a devolution. One Torontoist commenter claims that they “arrived [to the site] with a couple of friends as some shadows were leaving and the paint was still fresh.” Reader Darren Kregar, who sent us a photo this morning—when there wasn’t also a tiny “Thanks” balloon at the piece’s feet—wrote in his email that “I am not sure if this was meant to be humorous or not.”
Either way, there are now just two fully intact Banksys left of the seven that landed here last weekend.
