Today's morning news roundup is the last one that Torontoist will publish for a while. But don't worry, you'll still get your news fix: from now on, we'll be publishing shorter headless posts (the ones without an image, like this one) throughout the day with increasing frequency, as news or other interesting stuff happens—anything we want to write or spark discussion about but that we can't justify giving a full-length post to. As always, e-mail us at tips@torontoist.com if you're privy to anything you think we should write about, briefly or not.

Damnit, those smarmy news posts were a great way to start the day.
I can understand the amount of effort that goes into them though, but they will be missed. I do welcome the idea of more active shorter updates though.
Those summaries were a great way to start the day, and led me into reading other Torontoist items with my morning coffee. Now I'll have to get my news from Spacing.ca, which provides a good summary, though less blood-warming.
For me, this will probably like when Salon cancelled the excellent free MP3 feature Audiofile. I told myself I'd keep checking in regularly, but I didn't.
Yeah, not going to lie, the morning news posts were a fantastic way to start the day, and I miss them already.
