After last weekend's Style In Progress event the alleyways south of Queen Street West, between Spadina Avenue and Portland Street, are sporting a fresh coat of paint, or twenty. Every year the graffiti along the lanes is whitewashed and renewed during this event, and now is the best time to take a walk and appreciate this outdoor gallery before the taggers come along and scrawl over it all.
More pictures after the jump.

Awww look at the criminals committing crime.
DaveDave - where are the criminals? All I see are artists participating in a legitimate cultural festival.
You said previously "It'd be great if certain walls were saved for art that was changed every few months or so. For me it's all about permission and respect".
Here we have a case where certain walls are saved for art that is changed yearly, with permission and respect, so why are you still complaining?
I'm growing more convinced the anti-street art/graffiti position is primarily concerned with aesthetics and not property rights as they claim.
If they had permission to paint on all those walls then I will shut the hell up.
davedave, you'll be glad to know this was a very organized event, with corporate sponsorship and all. Not only did they have permission to paint on all the walls but the alleyway is left cleaner than it's been in a year thanks to a pick up crew.
If the alley no longer smells like pee then I will be truly impressed.
Well, prepare not to be too impressed then...
I love this place. I always take friends here when they visit. Thanks for the lovely photos!
