So Cool it Hertz

2008_04_13dopplehertz.jpgIn a city that, he says, is devoid of an electrifying dance music scene, Matt Sims is offering up a brand-new way for party-goers to dabble in dj beats. "I feel there been a lot missing from the dance music scene down here," Sims wrote in a release sent to Torontoist, "so we’re here to save it!" His solution? Dopplehertz.

Dopple-whaat? The new group is promising to throw parties and spin sounds all 'round town. The Social, known for its messy Mondays, is holding the first of many Dopplehertz parties, headlined by NYC scene veteran Larry Tee Monday night. Tee will be spinning club tracks off his summer release, Club Badd, an album already heard on the turntables of Justice, Armand Van Helden, and Pete Tong. If that's not enough electroclash for one week, Dopplehertz and Pink Mafia put their party promotions together for Milwaukee two-piece The Glamour, Thursday night at Wrongbar. Next on deck are Ultraviolet Sound and Hearts Revolution, but until their real website is finished, you can keep up with the Dopplehertz dudes on Facebook.
