Valentine's Gifts for Lazy Lovers

2008_02_07heartcraft.jpg

Any sweetheart worth his or her weight in Godiva's will tell you that all they really want for Valentine's Day is something from the heart, made by hand. Lovely and true. But did said sweetie specify whose heart? Whose hands?

Unromantic as it seems, we believe it's perfectly acceptable to outsource your labours of love. Why spend hours wrestling with hot glue and lace when someone else can do it for you—and better?

This Sunday, February 10, City of Craft and the workroom present a Valentine's Day Trunk Show, a modern craft bazaar for modern lovers. The show takes place at 1340 Queen Street West, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature at least fifteen local vendors, their suitcases packed with aww-inspiring goods. There will be cards and tchotchkes by Kim Kutner, neckwarmers by the Sweetie Pie Press, and "bobbles for the hair and soul" by Matthea Made.

But why stop at gifts? The emotionally lazy can have love letters written on demand by Lauren Bride (locks of hair added for an extra fee—no joke) and, presumably, pass them off as self-penned sentiment. Whatever gets you laid, right?
