Chili Scenes Of Winter

2008_01_22veganchili.jpg

Kensington Market's Left Feet and Heart On Your Sleeve will be hosting its first annual vegan chili cook-off this Saturday, January 26 in support of homeless outreach. Amateur foodies, in addition to local restaurants Urban Herbivore, Sadie's Diner, and the Magic Oven will compete to find who's got the best vegan chili in Toronto.

The cook-off will be held from 2–6 p.m. (with ballots counted and prizes awarded at 5:30 p.m.) at 88 Nassau Street. And if you think you've got a super vegan chili recipe that's worthy of competition, you can register as a competitor by contacting Natalie Stephenson (Heart On Your Sleeve) at 416-999-2197 or Steven Fish (Left Feet) at 416-360-5338. There is a $5 entry fee for tasters; $10 fee for individual submissions; and $25 fee for restaurant, team, or organization submissions. All proceeds will go to benefiting homeless outreach. Please bring your own bowl.
