Unfortunately, Mike's Love Doesn't Fix Elevators

stclairstrikesagaintakasaki.jpg

As you may remember, Michael Takasaki spent the better part of this past year photographing one broken automatic entrance to St. Clair station ("Let Mike's Love Open The Door"), an entrance that was mercifully fixed shortly after our article was published ("Mike's Love Opened The Door!"). As for the rest of the station—uh, not so much.

As Takasaki tells us, the doors are "working brilliantly," but "the TTC never got around to finishing the job on the elevators. And they've actually taken a sharpie and crossed out the "late June" from the estimated completion date on all the signs in the station so it just reads "2007."" And so the TTC continues its trend of little steps backwards as it continues to try to take big leaps forward...

I use the Keele subway Indian Grove entrance. Well, finally after over a year, they are replacing both turnstiles(only one was operational).

There are no signs in the main Keele subway station telling passengers that they cannot use the Indian Grove entrance(they can get out that way though)or how long it will take.

There is a sign in the entrance to Indian Grove telling customers that the job will be done spring, 2007.

I was so bummed out to use our subway system after returning from a vacation in Hong Kong and Singapore recently. Now they know how to run a subway system!

I'm still peeved how it took over 3 months to do maintenance on an escalator at the Sheppard station.
