Artist Damien Hirst's diamond-studded skull reminded us that we used to live across the street from a lady who kept a magical Mayan crystal skull in her house. Which got us to thinking about other spooky things. So we've compiled a list of ten, supposedly haunted places in the city. Make your own ghost walk and if you do actually see a spirit, please let us know.

1. The Hockey Hall of Fame (pictured here) is said to be haunted by a ghost named Dorothy. They say she was killed in a robbery. That or she shot herself after a love affair turned sour. Dorothy mostly makes a lot of noise and hangs out in the former Bank of Montreal building's vault, where the Stanley Cup and other NHL awards are kept.

2. The Keg Mansion is former home of the Massey family and hosts several ghosts. So after a hard day at work, kick back with friends, good times and the spectral body of a suicidal maid hanging from the staircase above the main foyer.

3. The Beardmore Building on Front Street. A ghostly lady loiters on the fourth floor of this former leather tannery.

4. The Gibraltar Point Lighthouse at Hanlan's Point on the Island was said to be spooked by a lighthouse keeper who was murdered in the 19th century. Some meddling kids had the site blessed, and no further activity has been reported.

5. Ryerson Theatre School. The building used to house the pharmacy college, where cadavers were stored. Some report hearing pianos played by no human hands while others note the sudden aroma of formaldehyde.

7. Colborne Lodge, High Park. If you stroll past the lodge at night, you may be treated to the sight of a woman in a bedroom window silhouetted against the light. Except that she’s a ghost of Jemima Howard (the original inhabitant of the house) and there are no light fixtures inside the room. Ai-e-e-e!

8. The Grange at the Art Gallery of Ontario is the oldest building in Toronto. It's also home to a spectre in a yellow velvet waistcoat who can actually walk through walls! Too bad the museum is closed until AGO renovations are complete.

9. Lower Bay Subway Station. Supposedly the tunnel is haunted by the ghost of a woman, known by workers as The Lady in Red. She has been described as wearing long red dress, hovering footless and eyeless. Supposedly you can hear her singing in Upper Bay Station.

10. Queen’s Park. There have been numerous spectral sightings both inside the legislature building and on the Queen’s Park Grounds, including a former Lieutenant-Governor, a ghost horse that descends staircases, three old ladies, and a soldier. Legend has it that the legislature was built on the grounds of an insane asylum (insert joke comparing MPPs to lunatics here).
