Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

The Distillery District is a very popular destination for this city’s photographers. It was the setting for this striking image by Torontoist Flickr pool member ~EvidencE~ (Michael Quigg). There’s something about the way the bricks look in the far-off window and we love the way this rusty ol’ pickup truck glows as though on fire. This makes it especially hard to believe that the photo was shot last weekend in the dead of winter.
What else do we like here? The texture of the oxidized rust contrasted with the frost on the windshield, and also the vantage point — as though we’re sitting in the driver’s seat watching this all happen around us.
