Fog In Toronto (Again)

Torontoist reader Gareth saw our post last week featuring a photograph, shot from the CN Tower, of fog blanketing the downtown core. Two days later, he found himself on a plane to Vancouver "in the wee hours of the morning," and snapped this equally breathtaking photo of the city below him. Click on the photo to see it bigger.

We can hardly believe our eyes. "It looks like the CN Tower is drawn in," Gareth explains, "but it's not, I swear." The Torontoist readership is a trustworthy bunch, so we'll go with our gut on this one. Thanks for giving us all something beautiful to look at on Monday morning, Gareth!

At first glance of the picture, I thought this had something to do with The Day After Tomorrow.

This is a gorgeous photo! Nice catch!

the reason the tower looks drawn in is that it is pixellated and doesn't seem to be casting a shadow.

but the picture is lovely.

congratulations on your nice silver win in the canadian blog awards!!!!

thought i'd pop by as a fellow 'placer' to offer my best wishes......after we place our buttons on our site then it's back to the fun work......it's been an interesting diversion to say the least.

That is hands-down the most beautiful shot I've ever seen of the Toronto skyline. It should be on a poster, postcards and in all of our tourist materials!

Beautiful. Like a tropical island.

Wow. Absolutely amazing.

wee! gosh, i love all these cloud-porn shots!

That really is quite stunning.

to get a shot like that, you usually have to have your camera on in the "no portable electronic devices" time
