Torontoist’s favourite novelty act is coming back to the city at the end of the month, and will be gracing scenesters with two performances. Lady Sovereign has just announced* an “Official Toronto After-Party” at the State Theatre following her performance on June 23rd with the Streets.
However, after-parties are simply too common for Torontoist’s tastes. Especially after we found out that we could purchase our own date with Miss Sovereign. That’s right: for the low cost of 425 after-party tickets ($17.50 each, plus those pesky convenience costs) you could buy a date with the lady.
At least, $10,000 was the date-rate that fan Zach Slow was quoted when he requested to Get Random with Sovereign after her June 9th show in San Francisco. The RSVP came this week, but it also included an impressive roster of requirements, such as: the rental of a yacht to tour the Bay area, two five-star hotel rooms, a three-course meal, and airline tickets to L.A. Tickets for the June 23rd after-party go on sale this Saturday at 10am.
