You know what they say—clothes make the man. But what about the ladies? Sheila Heti, Heidi Julavits, and Leanne Shapton conducted numerous interviews, surveys, and conversations to explore why women dress the way they do and how they present themselves through the use of garments. The result—a book called Women in Clothes—features writing and illustrations from over 600 contributors. To gain admission to the launch party, pick an item of (clean) clothing you don’t want anymore, write a little story about it, attach the story to the clothing, and trade with another attendee.
