Trading on some nostalgia for “the golden age of television,” TV PARTY has paired musicians like Rae Spoon, Laura Barrett, and Vanessa Fischer (of Lioness) with filmmakers, and the collaborative works will be presented live in front of (and “on”) a 30-foot mock-up of a wooden CRT television, recalling the Saturday morning cartoons, early ’80s MTV heyday, and groundbreaking programming on cable before the rise of the world wide web.
