A Halloween dance on Toronto Island? Yes, please. 1950s soul band The Mercenaries is playing a special Halloween gig over on Wards Island. (Can you already imagine the fog coming in as you take the ferry over? It’s the stuff horror movies are made of.) The set will feature an eight-piece band (with three horns), as well as plenty of costumes and overall spooky times. And don’t worry if you end up staying too late to catch the last ferry—there are always water taxis going back and forth.
