The Social Capital Theatre has been the east end’s busiest venue for improv and sketch comedy for some time; now, it’s adding a regular stand-up showcase to the mix. Social Standing will be a monthly event featuring a short list of comics on the venue’s second-floor stage. This first edition will feature headliner DJ Demers (whom we saw do some fine work during September’s JFL42 festival), plus James Hartnett, Darryl Orr, Jeremy Woodcock, and host Marcel St. Pierre.
