Weekly musical-theatre open mic Singular Sensation has a new feature in 2014; it’ll be showcasing short sets of original material by local performers, sandwiched in between the usual appearances of “slumming” performers on their night off. Up this week in the showcase slot are Jeff Insell and Elliott Loran, the hosts of cabaret series The Swinging Wingding. (Loran leaves town soon to report for duty in the Stratford Festival ensemble.)
