Have some words in your brain and feelings in your heart that you just need to release? Well, here’s good news—there’s a new live poetry circuit in town! The very first installment of Hot Damn It’s a Queer Slam goes down this weekend. Feeling courageous? Bring two completely original pieces of writing; you’ll have a maximum of three minutes to recite each one. If you’re more of a spectator-sport fan, come out and support those brave enough to share, and enjoy a special performance by Tanya Neumeyer, activist and celebrated member of the Toronto Poetry Slam team.
