Modelled on a curious open mic and talent showcase in Oxford that will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Catweazle Toronto monthly is a no-mic, small-stage variety show that attempts to replicate the cozy, living-room feel of its English progenitor. The special guest headliner this month is veteran Toronto songwriter Kurt Swinghammer, who’ll be trying out new material on a prototype guitar. Those interested in performing (there’s a Roland piano, but otherwise bring your own unplugged act) in the open mic portion of the night should show up at 7:30 p.m. to sign up.
