Toronto Police Get Stealthy New Cars
Toronto inches closer to RoboCop.
FYI: @TorontoPolice squad cars will be dark grey going forward. No longer white. pic.twitter.com/iXL7AFnGUo

Apparently Toronto Police squad cars have gone all RoboCop on us. And not even the fun 1987 Paul Verhoeven edition, but the 2014 filmed-in-Toronto version.
680 News notes that up until the early 1960s, all police vehicles were unmarked. By 1986, they were all white.
This stealthy grey feels like something else entirely, though. It’s far too cool and intimidating, and seems designed to reveal as little as possible. By contrast, police aesthetics work best when they’re quaint or dorky. Think ridiculous bicycle shorts, or anything related to police horses.
If only the police car version of that silliness was still available.
