Artist Paints Names of Orlando Victims in Church-Wellesley Village

A simple but touching tribute.

image1

WHERE: The Village, spanning Church Street from Gloucester to Maitland.

WHAT: In the aftermath of the Orlando mass shooting at a gay nightclub that claimed the lives of 49, Toronto’s LGBTQ communities have come together to celebrate their lives and the importance of solidarity. After a vigil and a gathering named after the nightclub Pulse, one artist has made his mark. Along the Village’s sidewalks, the unknown artist has painted the names and ages of each victim in the shooting. The result is a makeshift memorial, understated but moving.
