|FIELD NOTES:||It’s rare to see street art that looks like it’s been around for a while. Like its subject, this piece has seen things. If it could talk, it would be all like, “Back in my day, graffiti artists had to hike four hours through blizzards in -30 C just to paint a tag,” or “When I was first painted, people didn’t buy spray paint; they ground their own pigment from scratch!” Even though we often embrace graffiti’s temporary nature, there’s something comforting about seeing a piece that has withstood the test of time and is still around to represent the history of the medium.|
