In the news: Bombardier's blunders, Toronto YouTube space opens to the public, and Star Trek tele-series to film in Toronto this fall.
In yet another ~surprising~ announcement, Bombardier has announced that it will be reducing this year’s streetcar deliveries down from 54 vehicles to 30. The firm’s president, Benoit Brossoit, said in a news release, “Bombardier acknowledges the disappointment of the TTC with regards to delivery of this project so far, but is still committed as ever to support its customer in the full delivery of this order.” Torontonians everywhere could be heard sighing in disbelief.
Those looking to follow in the footsteps of Lilly Singh and LaurDIY now have a space to call their own. Launched Tuesday, Google’s official YouTube Space Toronto is now available for up-and-coming video stars to make and record original videos, attend workshops, and collaborate with likeminded individuals. But there’s a catch: only those with more than 10,000 subscribers can use the equipment.
Trekkies, rejoice! The new Star Trek tele-series will be filming in Toronto this fall and is rumoured to air January 2017.
