Video: Raccoon Rides The Rocket During Morning Rush
They're officially taking over Toronto.
First, they stole donuts from a GTA coffee shop. Now, they’re hitching free rides on the TTC.
Raccoons are taking over Toronto.
Raccoon on the subway. Standard.

Move over Pigeon Who Rides the TTC, because one particularly sneaky trash panda hopped on a subway car at Spadina Station during the morning rush hour, according to transit riders. Unsuspecting commuters reacted with alarm—one jumped on top of a seat to get away from the scavenger. Come on guys, everyone knows to keep your feet off the seats.

The raccoon’s visit caused delays this morning (as if there weren’t enough already). Does Toronto need a Raccoon Relief Line? Yes, yes we do.

This isn’t the first time a raccoon has caught a ride on the GTA’s public transit. In December, a “downtown freeloader” hopped on a GO Train on the Lakeshore West line. Metrolinx spokespeople could not confirm if the raccoon tapped his Presto card before boarding.
The city’s raccoons are best known for using their weird little paws to pry open green bins, and provoke Torontonians to memorialize their rotting carcasses on the side of the road.
But even amidst all of their pesky antics, we’ll take a hitchhiking raccoon at Spadina Station over any other notable event that has taken place there.
We have now reached the remix stage of the meme cycle, as Dan Lytwyn gives SubwayRaccoon the soundtrack it deserves.
live-action reboot anyone? (h/t @heatherlleach) pic.twitter.com/jl84mgVpkC
