Choir! Choir! Choir! Performs Bowie’s Space Oddity at the AGO

Over 500 people perform Space Oddity with the help of the AGO's acoustics.

More than 500 members of Choir! Choir! Choir! performed at the AGO on Saturday night to pay tribute to the late David Bowie.

The group of singers, which welcomes anyone to their twice-weekly practices on a no-commitment basis, sang Bowie’s 1969 hit “Space Oddity” in the AGO’s Walker Court less than a week after his passing. The singalong was one of at least 11 Toronto-area tributes to Bowie over the past week.

The group previously performed at the AGO in 2013, when they sang the Patti Smith song “Because the Night.”
