Toronto Finally Gets a Cat Café

Toronto doesn't need the Olympics—it has a cat café.

Toronto’s long cat café nightmare is finally over.

TOT the Cat Café opened this morning at 298 College Street, just west of College and Spadina. The café sells coffee, juice, tea, and treats for the five adoptable kittens. Your feline friends will be available to a worthwhile forever home in a partnership with the Toronto Humane Society.

It wasn’t easy for Toronto to get its first cat café.

Two online fundraisers fell well short of their goals, and the prospective owners appeared to have difficulty finding an appropriate location.

TOT the Cat Café features a separated cat area from its café zone, so curious kittens will not dip their adorable noses in your latte.

But there are rules too–do not wake a sleeping kitten, or pick one up. This is their home, and you, human, are their guest.

New kittens will arrive as others get adopted. The café is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
