In the news: Ontario school teachers reach tentative agreement with the province, Sneaky Dee's offers contract to a new general manager, and Toronto sees unusually warm November weather.

Ontario’s public school teachers have reached a tentative deal with the province following a months-long battle for workplace reform. The new deal, announced yesterday, put an immediate end to a work-to-rule action that affected 78,000 teachers and support staff. While details of the new contracts have not yet been made available to the public, Education Minister Liz Sandals said that the deal is “fairly similar” to ones reached with high school teachers and teachers from the Catholic and French boards, including a 1.5 per cent raise over three years, a 1 per cent bonus, and a new benefit plan. Students will now receive fully graded report cards—though slightly later than usual—and are able to enrol in extracurricular activities.
Following Alex Anthopoulos’ resignation with the Toronto Blue Jays last week, new reports have announced the former general manager has been offered a new managerial position, this time at Sneaky Dee’s. In a statement yesterday, management from the iconic dive bar said, “Anthopoulos wil have final say in all major day-to-day decisions including menu, venue booking, and personnel.” They continued, “Anthopoulos will also have full control over the restaurant’s recreational softball team roster.”
Toronto is expected to reach unusually high temperatures this week, ranging between 17 and 19 degrees today and tomorrow and a high of 21 C expected Thursday afternoon. But enjoy the warm weather while you can: fall temperatures are expected to return this weekend.
