In the news: Son of murdered spa owner charged in death, TPS board to debate 2016 budget, and former York Regional Police officer charged with sexual assault.

The son of a Mississauga spa owner whose body was found in April has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death. Eric Lu, 25, is one of three people charged in the murder of Ming-Chien “Teresa” Hsin. Mark Dookhram, 21, and Justine Ordonio, 25, were also charged.
The Toronto Police Board is scheduled to debate a $27 million increase of its new 2016 budget despite a city request for a one per cent decrease. The Board’s new proposal would see the current $980 million budget peak over $1 billion, the first in Toronto’s history. Toronto Police Association President Mike McCormack said in a statement, “The only way you can impact the budget, getting it down lower is to get rid of people, get rid of personnel.” The Board will meet this Thursday.
A former York Regional Police officer has been charged in the sexual assault of a young child. Donald Clark, 65, was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference yesterday following a weeklong investigation into the case.
