FIELD NOTES: | Phone booths are pretty high on the list of urban landscape endangered species. They still play an important role but let’s be honest, most of us would happily let these germ encrusted monoliths fall into obsolescence. Aside from being occasionally useful for those without cell phones or in cases of emergency they mostly do nothing but take up space. So why not turn them into art? Heck, with the sun shining on these booths at the right angle we might even want to use the pay phones! |
