FIELD NOTES: | We love the effect on walls when they aren’t immediately buffed. These layers of paint and paper give a (short) history of the wall and create a beautiful cacophony of colour and texture. Seeing how it’s evolved over time emphasizes the temporary nature of the medium and creates an even greater appreciation for what we discover. We find that Toronto is a big paint city so it’s a nice treat to see a whole wall of paste-ups. The collage aspect of these pieces gives the wall a sense of half-graffiti, half-seventies craft project gone awry–always a great aesthetic. |
Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email [email protected].
