SOUND ADVICE: Tasha the Amazon, Jazz Cartier, P Reign
#ICYMI, a roundup of noteworthy musical happenings in the city some call The 6.

Tasha the Amazon goes Nowhere: Toronto’s Tasha the Amazon has been delivering solid material for some time now and her new track “Nowhere” is no exception. The grimy-sounding number features a guest appearance by Retch, and is worth repeated plays.

Jazz Cartier has flair: Rapper of the moment Jazz Cartier dropped a video for tracks “The Valley / Dead or Alive”—off his well-received Marauding in Paradise project—and with pretty visuals to boot. Directed by Kyle Sanderson, the cinematics show a diversely cool side of the city that mainstream media tends to ignore.

P Reign takes care: OVO Sound’s P Reign hits us with a new one with “Rich.” The homie of Drake who last hit us with the Dear America EP—featuring notorious track “DnF”—continues his new era hip-hop vibe on this one.
