WHAT: City dwellers are gearing up for the official July 10th start of the 2015 Pan American Games. On Wednesday, Team Canada welcomed Pan Am’s international athletes to the Athletes’ Village in the West Don Lands, and celebrated with drums, dancing, and an appearance by our very favourite Canadian porcupine, Pachi the Pan Am mascot. With Nathan Phillips Square, July’s Metropass, Island ferries, and downtown bus shelters–amongst other things–brightly decorated for this highly-anticipated(?) (and complained-about) event, we can assure you that the City of Toronto will be ready to host one hell of sporting event. Or something.
