Polaris Music Prize 2015 Shortlist Revealed
The 10 top contenders for Canadian music's biggest recognition have been named, and competition this year is fierce.

An image of two-time Polaris Prize loser, Drake, when he was one of our 2013 heroes.
The shortlist for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize (aka, the Canadian music recognition that actually matters) was just released, and it’s quite the doozy:
Alvvays – Alvvays
BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah – Sour Soul
Braids – Deep In The Iris
Caribou – Our Love
Jennifer Castle – Pink City
Drake – If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late
Tobias Jesso Jr. – Goon
The New Pornographers – Brill Bruisers
Buffy Sainte-Marie – Power In The Blood
Viet Cong – Viet Cong
Singer-songwriter Fred Penner will host the awards gala on September 21, which will see a $50,000 prize awarded to the artist whose album was designated Canada’s best of the year.
Naturally, this particular list has people talking. Will this be the year that Drake finally wins? Could this be the international launching pad for critical darlings BADBADNOTGOOD? And, how the hell is this Buffy Sainte-Marie’s first nomination?
May the betting begin.
