- In addition to Toronto’s proposed bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, the City will now have to decide on whether to submit an application for the 2025 Expo. In similar fashion to his non-answer on Toronto’s potential Summer Olympic bid, a letter from John Tory’s office stated, “With the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games ongoing, now is not the time to discuss a bid for an Expo. Obviously such a bid would have to be in partnership with other governments and partners.” If not now, when, John Tory? Whennnnnn?
- Sightings of Asian grass carp in Tommy Thompson Park have sent wildlife workers into a frenzy over what has been called the “biggest response in Canada to date” from Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Four boats have been deployed by the Leslie Street Spit in search of the notoriously invasive species, as two male carp were recently spotted close together in the area.
- A week after slamming Canadian superstar Drake and getting into a heated (albeit hilarious) argument with city councillor Norm Kelly on Twitter, 28-year-old Meek Mill was loudly booed late last night after appearing nearly 90 minutes late to his scheduled performance at the Molson Amphitheatre. No word yet on whether he will write a diss track to his fans for the blow.
