Daily PANAMANIA Tip Sheet: Palenke Soultribe

You know what’s world-class? PANAMANIA’s music festival programming. Here’s our guide to the must-see free music shows of the day, every day, during the fest.

Palenke Soultribe
CIBC Pan Am Park (200 Princes’ Boulevard)
Tuesday, July 21 at 10:00 p.m.

Are they electronic pop? Are they Afro-Colombian dance? Are they straight-up cumbia? Like so many talented artists currently floating from Latin America’s underground to the pan-American mainstream, Palenke Soultribe’s sound defies clear categorization. That slipperiness is precisely what makes the group interesting.

The Colombian-bred, L.A.-based electronic collective are notorious for their raucous live performances and collaborative spirit, which means you can never be exactly sure what to expect from them onstage. In our books, that’s a good thing.
