Daily PANAMANIA Tip Sheet: Cold Specks

You know what’s world-class? PANAMANIA’s music festival programming. Here’s our guide to the must-see free music shows of the day, every day, during the fest.

Cold Specks
Panamania Live @ Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queen Street West)
Tuesday, July 14 at 8:15 p.m.

Cold Specks, the Etobicoke-bred goth soulstress (yes, actually), received a prestigious Polaris nomination for her 2012 debut album I Predict a Graceful Expulsion. She followed up the new kid hype with 2014’s Neuroplasticity, an ambitious second release that featured backing vocals from Michael Gira of spooky dad band, Swans. While Gira won’t likely be making a PANAMANIA appearance tonight–that’s right kids, you can leave the string of garlic bulbs at home–Cold Specks’ show will surely cast a sexy shadow on the festival proceedings.
