Vandalist: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This artist has created a real think piece

FIELD NOTES: What do Renaissance art figures, classic directors and stars of the silver screen, and Dobby from Harry Potter have in common? They have all become the subjects of Wallflower’s city embellishments, and they’re thinking about their new roles really hard. The great thing about being a wallflower is that no one suspects that while you’re keeping to yourself you’re also secretly putting art across the city. Whoever did this is probably the last person we would expect. But what is it these cultural icons are pondering? Perhaps that is up to us viewers to fill in (in which case Alfred Hitchcock is thinking about chewing gum. Classic Hitchcock).

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email [email protected].
