Despite the mayor’s aggressive push on the issue, the debate over the future of the eastern portion of the Gardiner is too close to call. The Star surveyed how councillors intend to vote, and found that with less than a week remaining, it’s basically split between those who prefer to replace the expressway with a boulevard, and those who want to keep it mostly as is. Council debates the issue on June 10.

Bike Share Toronto won’t see expansion in time for the Pan Am Games. The four-year-old downtown bike network, which is about the same size as when it was launched, faces technology problems with its existing stations, and will need to change their technology supplier before they expand. A spokesperson for Bike Share added that the network’s small size is an advantage, because it will be easier to fix the problem.

How strongly do some opponents of the sex education curriculum feel about the issue? Well, some are threatening to leave the country if it’s implemented. That’s the word from Scarborough-Guildwood, which has seen some strong opposition to the education update. Protests of the curriculum are planned for Friday and Sunday.
