It's Wendsday, the most commonly misspelled day of the week! Today in the news: Billy Bishop's pedestrian tunnel will likely open after the Pan Am Games, paramedics are worried about a "toxic" work environment, and the Star wonders if a 1,000-person orgy in a park is the real deal.

The pedestrian tunnel to Billy Bishop Airport “probably” won’t be ready in time for the Pan Am Games. The much-delayed $82.5-million airport link won’t be ready until the end of July. The Pan Am Games, which Porter Airlines sponsors, conclude around the same time. A spokesperson for Ports Toronto told the Globe that nothing in particular went wrong, but the project just took longer than expected.

A new report states that Toronto paramedics face a “huge morale problem” in a job environment that is “toxic” or “poisoned.” Coming from CUPE Local 416, the labour union that represents Toronto paramedics, the leaked report paints a bleak picture of job freezes in a high-stress work environment that has seen a growth in workload. Councillor Jim Karygiannis (Ward 39, Scarborough-Agincourt) intends to raise the issue at next week’s council meeting.

The Star gets action? The paper earnestly wonders whether a Facebook group that is supposedly organizing a June 21 orgy at Trinity-Bellwoods Park is indeed the real deal. Over 1,000 people have signed up for the event, which police concede could very well be a hoax. A police spokesperson added that orgies are “not considered an approved activity under the parks’ bylaw.”
