The Blue Jays have won 11 in a row, which is a lot. In other news: principals want you to stop calling them, officials are looking at ways to minimize Pan Am policing costs, and a 19-year-old is charged with a hit-and-run that left a cyclist dead.

The organization that represents Toronto principals and vice-principals says it’s “unreasonable and unrealistic” to expect administrators to deliver report cards and feedback to all families. Principals have reportedly received a massive amount of phone calls from concerned parents, but they warn that the ratio of families to principals and vice-principals—450:1—is simply too high.

Officials from the Pan Am Games and Toronto Police are looking at ways to minimize policing and security expenditures during next month’s event. Toronto Police Services has budgeted $73 million for the games, including overtime, and have reduced the amount of available vacation time and potential court dates. The Globe reports that the methods used to reduce costs during the games could be looked at to lower policing costs down the road, as the City has seen the TPS budget grow faster than any other major department.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with a hit-and-run that left a 26-year-old cyclist dead. The incident occurred Saturday night by Avenue and Davenport, and Mitchell Irwin allegedly fled the scene in his 2015 Hyundai Sonata. He is scheduled to appear in court today.
