  • It’s truly the end of an era: after 14 seasons, Degrassi: The Next Generation will air its series finale in the summer. (ICYMI, we mapped some of the original series’ most memorable Toronto landmarks back in 2012.) Before the July 31 series finale will be an hour-long special featuring former cast members, creators, and fans sharing memories, which we hope will include a cameo by our pal, Aubrey Graham.

  • Local bro-tering hole El Furniture Warehouse was under fire today for posting a transphobic meme deriding Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover, and then responding to criticism incredibly poorly. The image was quickly taken down and a co-owner of the bar apologized to BuzzFeed Canada, but not before offering a sterling reminder of why it’s important to not be terrible on social media and/or in life.
  • And in the latest drama surrounding the future of the Gardiner East, the Star‘s David Rider tweeted this afternoon that the federal Liberal party is in favour of tearing the bad boy down. A letter opposing the mayor’s hybrid plan has been signed by nine Ontario Liberal MPs, seven of whom represent Toronto ridings.
