- Tim Hortons is launching its very own “Ehmoji” keyboard just in time for Canada Day. The free keyboard, which can be found on the iTunes App store July 1, will feature 12 uniquely Canuck images, including a maple leaf, a beaver, a moose, a toque, an “Eh” speech bubble, and a Tim Hortons cup. No word on if the Canadianism ‘Sorry’ will appear there.
- Toronto could soon be home to what Bell Canada claims is the the fastest Internet speed in North America. Ma Bell announced it will release its new internet service, Gigabit Fibe, to over one million homes and businesses this summer season. The project is expected to create 2,400 jobs locally, and Bell plans to provide the service free of charge to eight Toronto community centres, where you can presumably download Inside Out in seven seconds.
- If you thought you had it hard, you really, truly don’t—at least, not compared to two Bloor West millionaires. Couple Shirley and Todd Ankenmann of Toronto took to CityNews to announce their disdain over a hydro pole that was erected in front of their million-dollar home, and the local broadcast then dedicated two minutes to this important issue. No, you read that correctly. According to Toronto Hydro, the organization responsible for the offending pole, said safety and technical issues prevent the statue from being placed a couple feet to the left, leaving it in full view of their Ankenmanns’ front window. While the wealthier-than-thou couple might cry into their fat stacks of money (that’s what millionaires do, right?), we’ll cry over editorial choices on local news broadcasts.
