- Good afternoon, sports fans! It’s the home opener for the Toronto Blue Jays, which means fans can sit in the traditional closed dome, feel awkward about the wave, and root, root for the home team. The Jays opened the season on the road, and took the opening two series against the Yankees and Orioles. They’ll face off against another division rival, the Tampa Bay Rays, and knuckleballer R.A. Dickey will start for the Jays.
- Casa Loma isn’t just for X-Men and Scott Pilgrim. This past weekend, a couple had their dream wedding with 70 guests at the prime location. The groom has been diagnosed with cancer, and his prognosis only gives him a few months to live, but the couple said the day was one of the best of their lives. That sensation you’re getting right now? Those are called feelings.
- Spacing has launched the first in a seven-part series on the city’s parks, which the urbanist publication declares to be in crisis. The first part looks at the parks acquisition budget, and how the City has built up its war chest of funds due to downtown development, but has then used that money to purchase cheaper real estate for parks in the inner suburbs.
