Reality TV has nothing on this.

| FIELD NOTES: | The farther we get from downtown, the less graffiti we find. It’s especially rare to come across big, colourful, extravagant pieces. While generally accepted/expected/enjoyed in denser areas, something like this in a less urban area would normally have the neighbourhood up in arms. Not in this case. This piece was part of the Divadale Project: A Trespassing Event. One part artists, one part a to-be-demolished home, and one part permission from the property owner to go to town, and you get the Divadale Project. From top to bottom, inside and out, this house was completely transformed into a temporary art installation. It is what happens when you invite graffiti artists and miscreants to take over your home. The results are astounding. The home/project has now been demolished but we recommend you peruse Martin Reis‘s photos to see a few before, during, and after snapshots. |
Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email [email protected].
