Extra, Extra: Strikers Storm Munk Centre, Detached Houses Surpass $1 Million, and a Ghost Bus Goes Rogue

Every weekday’s end, we collect just about everything you ought to care about or ought not to miss.

  • At approximately 2 p.m. today, some 500 CUPE 3902 Unit 1 strikers disrupted a talk by university president Meric Gertler at the Munk School of Global Affairs before marching down University Avenue to protest in front of Queen’s Park. The labour unit representing the university’s TAs and graduate student faculty have been on strike since Monday.
  •

  • The Toronto Real Estate Board has released its February sales figures, and the average price of a detached home within the 416 area code has now surpassed $1 million. Personal space is boring, anyway.
  • Last night, a driverless bus slowly crashed into a work truck at Bathurst station. A TTC passenger caught the action on film, and if the laughter audible on the YouTube clip is any indication, eyewitnesses thought the mini-crash was mostly just kind of funny and unfortunate. Save for a minor side-mirror mishap on the wayward transit vehicle, the ghost bus was not ghostbusted.
