- The phrase “I have to top up the meter” might finally be destined for the linguistic graveyard. Local parking titan Green P has launched an app that allows drivers to buy parking time with their phones, eliminating the need to run out in the middle of dinner dates and house parties to renew parking sessions. “I think the city has been frozen in time,” Mayor John Tory said gravely at a news conference held today to announce the app, before vowing to deliver “the best possible parking experience” to Toronto’s motorists.
