Ivories will be tickled today as a series of free lunchtime performances takes over downtown.

If you like impromptu piano jams, then you’re in luck. There will be five lunchtime performances on specially set-up Steinways throughout downtown today. Spectators can hear the pianos at City Hall, Union Station, the CBC Atrium, the Royal Bank Plaza concourse, and SickKids Hospital, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grammy award–winning classical pianist Emmanuel Ax, who curated the event, will race from piano to piano, perhaps to put more shame to the rest of us. Also performing will be St. Michael’s Choir School alumnus Stewart Goodyear, TSO principal keyboardist Patricia Krueger, and piano duo Anagnoson & Kinton.
