- You can’t say that on TV…or can you? Today Councillor Gord Perks (Ward 14, Parkdale-High Park) dropped an accidental F-Bomb on live television while talking about the calculations for filling the city’s budget deficit. How F’ing embarrassing!
- Local heroes, the Art Gallery of Ontario, are considering a ban on selfie sticks—those embarrassing smartphone extension arms that are growing in popularity among
narcissistsamateur photographers. But sheer tackiness isn’t why the ban is being considered. Instead, it’s a size consideration. AGO spokesperson Andrea-Jo Wilson told CTVNews.ca: “We anticipate them being banned from gallery spaces like other large objects.” - The Star reported this morning that the Toronto South Detention Centre was on lockdown yesterday after a week of violent disruption that included an inmate’s suicide and the discovery that a set of the jail’s master keys were missing. Monte Vieselmeyer, the corrections division chair for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, told the paper: “The staff I talk to are not happy with the way it’s being run. Some have referred to it as a death trap.”
